Day 2 of my internship
Most of the day I did research for Windows 2012r2 migration tips. I found the follow websites helpful:

I also added this to the action plan:
-Sign in as a Domain Admin
-Check for licensing details. Do we need to update or acquire more?
-Check for system minimal requirements for all destination servers or Run the Best Practices Analyzer
- 4 GHz 64-bit processor
- 512 MB RAM
- 32 GB Disk Space
- GB Ethernet Adapter
- Internet access
-Check for 64bit version
-Besides ADDS role, which other roles are we transferring?
-Email everyone when the live migration will take place and who to contact if there are any problems.
-Check connectivity. Make sure each server can receive and send ping requests.
-Check for recent updates on both source and destination servers then disable automatic updates
-Add MSMT feature on destination and source servers
-Backup source server
- Active Directory Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI)
- The registry
- Internet Information Services (IIS)
-Stop DHCP server prior to migration
-Verify DNS is correctly set pointing to Domain controller
