15th day of my internship
Today was going to be another cable pulling day, but the painters started painting. So we cancelled for today. The contractor said they needed 2 or 3 full days to paint and let it dry.
What I did instead was help set up a Raspberry Pi so it can be used as a digital sign at a local real estate company. However, setting it up was not going as planned.
At first, it did not display anything on the monitor. We tested connections, cables and all of them were good. On the CMD line I typed in sudo apt-get update and for some reason went into a GUI logon window instead of the blank screen.
There were several user accounts already loaded on it and the only one we were able to log in was the guest session.
One reason why I believe we could only log onto the guest session and not the others was the storage device (SD) was 100% full. As it seemed to be full.
However, here is a question. As you can see in the picture above it only thinks it has 3.8GB total capacity. The SD card has 8GB. So, why is it doing this?
My best guess at this time will be to reformat and reinstall Raspbian operating system (OS) and New Out of Box Software (NOOBS). NOOBS tells it to boot the OS. Here is a link that will give you some guidance how to install the OS.
